my crochet journey: love at first stitch
how it all began!
i picked up my first crochet hook in october 2024 when i was visiting my cousins in pennsylvania. i asked one of my cousins, kayla, to teach me how to crochet and she sat me down and that’s when i created my first chain and (wonky) square! after that night, i quickly found myself captivated by the endless possibilities that a ball of yarn and a hook could offer. i sat at their dining room table for the rest of the week, endlessly learning all the stitches i could and making as many little pieces my hands could handle (shown in the cover photo lol don’t judge)
finding inspiration!
my inspiration comes from the everyday moments in life. whether it's creating a cozy accessory for a friend or designing a functional item for daily use, i find joy in making pieces that are both beautiful and practical. i also tend to find inspiration from social media, such as tiktok or pinterest!
the creative process!
each project begins with an idea, sparked by a need or a desire to create something unique. i plan out designs, choose the perfect yarn, and immerse myself in the rhythmic dance of stitches. crocheting has become my form of meditation, a way to express myself and bring comfort to others. and myself.
lessons learned!
through crochet, i've learned so much more patience, perseverance, and the importance of embracing imperfections. every mistake is a lesson, and every finished piece is a testament to growth.
